Girl on cell phone:…We had Mountain Day today.

Girl on cell phone (to obviously uncomprehending non-Williams friend):…We had MOUNTAIN DAY. MOUNTAIN DAY!
Yes, today we had Mountain Day! Basically, on a Friday in October, all the classes are cancelled as a surprise and everyone climbs the local mountain, Mt. Greylock. At the top we feast on cider donuts, apple pretzels, and hot cider, and listen to a cappella. It is glorious, glorious, glorious. On top of that, the day was 58º and a totally cloudless sky.
So this morning I woke up gleeful, as in I would just randomly start smiling. Then Good Question got together to perform at some Mountain Day festivities and the light was gorgeous and we got some incredible photos.
And then…
And then…
And then GQ was invited to open for The Kinsey Sicks’s drag-queen a cappella show Condoleezapalooza. GQ is OPENING for the Kinsey Sicks. In the biggest theater in Williams. This is a BIG DEAL and I’m so pumped and excited. On top of that, Bonnie’s sister is visiting tonight, so I think my mood can most easily be summed up by a quote from Bonnie and Ruth’s ridiculous semi-Polish theater professor:
I am…HA!…I am flying!

[...] Anyway, that’s over now, and it’s reading period, and I’m getting tons and tons of sleep, not to mention quality time with the Ru and other buds. Mountain day was amazing, of course (Matt’s got photos on his Flickr), and made even better by the very very exciting news that GQ is opening for the Kinsey Sicks this friday! Get your tickets now, ’cause as of last friday there were only something like 90 left. Incidentally, that means that GQ will be singing for a packed house at the ‘62 Center’s Mainstage, which seats something like 500. Woohoo! And now it’s time to get my math on! [...]
